An absence is defined as not being present in class or missing half of the scheduled classes for that day and defined as excused or unexcused. A written explanation must be furnished within 48 hours upon return or the absence will be unexcused. Students must be in good standing to attend extracurricular events such as field trips, homecoming, etc. Less than 10 % absences is defined as good standing. Drivers License Ø Tardiness 15 or more unexcused absences in a 90 day period will result in your license being suspended. Students are expected to be on time to all classes. Tardiness is defined as excused or unexcused. Every (3) unexcused tardies within a grading period count as one unexcused absence. Additionally, other unexcused tardy offenses will be subject to the tardy policy here at East Lake High Permits to Leave Once students arrive on campus, they may not leave. Students who must leave campus during school hours must have their parent request this release by phone or in person to the office in order to obtain preapproval.

Meal Accounts Breakfast and lunch monies can be prepaid by cash or check and put into your child's account in the cafeteria. Checks should be made out to ELHS Food Service. The money remains in the student account and may be used for any meal during the year. Your child's account can be replenished at any time to avoid a negative balance. Middle and High School students will use a Food Service Pin number to access their prepaid accounts and ring in their meals at the point of sale. Field Trips General guidelines 1. No teacher may request that a student miss class

Field Trips General guidelines 1. No teacher may request that a student miss class due to an activity more than one day per quarter or 4 days per year. 2. Due to almost continuous testing (EOCs, FSA, AP, etc. ) between spring break and mid-May, no teacher may request a student miss class for an activity (other than a district/regional/ state competition) from April 1 until the end of AP exams in mid-May. 3. Only an administrator can dismiss students from a class and there will be no less than a 24 hour notice. 4. To attend field trips, students must have passing grades and good attendance(No F’s)

Process for acquiring a “code 2” for students: Teachers requesting field trips should distribute to eligible students the form which includes a place for the student’s grade. Students with 2 Ds or 1 F are ineligible to miss class for any extra-curricular activity. Students with more than 4 unexcused absences per quarter or 8 per semester are ineligible to miss class for any extra-curricular activity. Completed TDE forms should be turned into administration for final approval and placement on an excused student (code 2) list. Students not on the administratively generated list are not allowed to miss class.

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT Our coaches, trainer and administrators hope that this will be an enjoyable year for you and your family. As part of the registration process, we want to insure that you are fully aware and understand the commitments East Lake High School makes to you and what our expectations and obligations from you are as a member of East Lake HS. Please read, sign and return to your Coach or Team Manager. 1. I will play sports because I want to, not because others want me to. 2. I will remember that sports are an opportunity to learn and have fun. 3. I will remember that winning isn't everything, that having fun, playing fair, improving my skills, making friends and giving my best effort are the most important aspects of youth sports. 4. I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and expect everyone to refrain from their use at all training and games. 5. I will treat all coaches, trainers, players, game officials, administrators, and fans with respect at all times, regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities, and I will expect to be treated accordingly.

I will report any posts that I see which violate this policy to my parents and my coach. I understand that failure to comply may result in my suspension from the team. 18. I understand that I must return all uniform(s) and equipment in a timely manner and that I will not participate in a team banquet or subsequent sport with an outstanding uniform obligation. 19. I will read the Pinellas County School’s Student Code of Conduct and agree to abide by the requirements. I will conduct myself in accordance with FHSAA, District, School, and team, athletic and academic rules at all times or will be subject to disciplinary action. 20. East Lake HS is a leader in academic performance. I understand that I must maintain a high academic standard (2. 5), will be suspended from athletic competition upon receipt of a disciplinary referral and/or for poor attendance. Student-athletes must attend the entire school day to practice or play, may not have a D or F in any class and participate without the Athletic Director’s written consent, and will not accumulate more than 3 tardies in any class during any one academic quarter. I acknowledge receipt of this contract and have reviewed the requirements to represent East Lake HS as a player. I also understand that failure to comply with any part of this contract may result in my suspension from the team and possible placement in “not in good standing” status with the East Lake High School Athletic Department.
