Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models My lab focuses on 3

Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models My lab focuses on 3 major research aims: 1. Role of sphingolipids in health and disease- # Sphingolipids and Immune Modules in inflammation and Malignancy # Sphingolipids as a link between obesity, chronic inflammation and cancer 2. Natural compounds as immune regulators#The use of nutritional and natural compounds (algae, mushrooms and cannabis) as prevention or treatment for human disease and the regulation of the immune system 3. Discovering the pathways involved in metastasis formation Collaborations (International and national): 1. Prof. Soliman Khatib- MIGAL, Israel 2. Prof. Dan Levanon, Dr. Ofer Danay, Dr. Idan Perman- MIGAL, Israel 3. Prof. Eran Perlson- Tel-Aviv University, Israel 4. Meir and RAMBAM hospitals, Israel 5. Yemoja, LTD- Israel 6. Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models We use in vitro, ex-vivo

Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models We use in vitro, ex-vivo models and in-vivo models: *In-vitro- Macrophages cell lines– inflammation assays for screening CACO 2 cell line- intestine cells for screening HEP 2 G cell line- liver cells various cancer cell lines: breast cancer, colon cancer, melanoma * Ex-Vivo- mouse samples and human samples from IBD /Tumor In collaboration with RAMBAM and MEIR hospitals * In-Vivo- we use pre-clinical mice models and immune system profile (FACS) for unmet disease Methods used in our research: # Gene expression-q. PCR, RNA seq # LIPIDOMICS analysis # FACS analysis # Signal transduction- WB and phosphorylation assays # Protein-ELISA # Ex-vivo Human patient

Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models We use pre-clinical mice models

Dr. Dorit Avni- in vitro and pre clinical models We use pre-clinical mice models and immune system profile (FACS) for unmet disease : * Fatty liver (NASH) and liver cancer (HCC)- induced by western diet * Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)- colitis model * Cancer and the immune system- breast cancer model (TNBC), melanoma * Compound absorption – ex vivo and in vivo models Colitis model
