Requirements • 5 paragraphs • Point by Point method used to organize the essay. • Use effective transitions that give direction to the similarities and differences. • 3 idea thesis statement • Oral Presentation over the two cultures and the common ritual they have between them.

The Point by Point Method • I. Introduction: Open with some basic ideas about the two cultures. Are you discussing ancient cultures? When were they in their prime or most important time? – Your three idea thesis statement (main idea of the essay) should be placed at the end of the Intro. Ex. The Navajo and the Sioux Indian’s marriage ritual can be compared by the engagement period, the ceremony, and the celebration after the wedding
