School Hours: 9: 35 a. m. – 4: 30 p. m. Students on campus: 9: 15 a. m. Morning Bell Rings: 9: 28 a. m. Students can come on campus starting at 9: 15 a. m. Holding Area Procedures Stand, Chill, and Talk No loud music No drinks or food Mask at all times!! FREE BREAKFAST EVERYDAY!!
Students Who Ride The Bus In The Morning Follow the flow of the signs in all areas Do NOT go through the Cafeteria to get to the holding areas. You must enter campus using the black gate by the Band Agriculture rooms. Only enter the cafeteria if you want to eat breakfast.
Transportation Procedures
Bus Riders Students CANNOT ride their friends’ bus home. Parents cannot call or write notes permitting their child to ride home with a friend. Students CAN ONLY get off on THEIR designated bus stop. Students must TO READ THE BUS SIGNS ON THE BUS RAMP! DO NOT GO THROUGH THE CAFETERIA Mask are to be worn at all times No music shall be played without having earbuds (per bus driver approval). Not following bus rules and procedures will result in bus suspensions. 1 Day, 3 Days, & 5 Days
Car Riders Students should be ready to load into their vehicle immediately. Students who carpool should be waiting together. Students should not load until all vehicles are pulled up and completely stopped.
Walkers/Bike Riders You must use the crosswalks to cross the street! Do not cut between cars or run across the street.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND STUDENT SERVICES OFFICE Students without a Mask will be given one. PROCEDURES Use the Student Affairs door located by the bike rack to enter into the Student Affairs Office. Students WITH A PASS from their teacher are permitted in the Student Affairs and Guidance Office. Students that DO NOT HAVE A PASS will be sent back to class. Please respect the 10 -10 Rule. Students can fill out a “Request To See” form through Canvas on the Barrington MS Student Services course.
CLINIC PROCEDURES Enter using the side door that says “Clinic” on it (located by the front, black gates). Students WITH A PASS from their teacher are permitted in the Clinic (The ONLY exception is for true emergencies during the change of class). Students that DO NOT HAVE A PASS will be sent back to class. All doctor’s notes and instructions need to be turned in to the clinic (i. e. Use of elevator, snack during the day, rolling bookbag). Students will be accessed by nurse, if there is a concern for case confirmation. Communication with designated staff with assure safety for all students sent to the clinic.
CLINIC & MEDICATION Students too ill to remain in class must request permission from their teacher to report to the clinic. Parent or guardian will be contacted and the determination will be made whether the student shall go home or return to class. Whenever possible, medication schedules should be arranged so all medication is given at home. Students should never be in possession of prescription or over the counter medication for any reason. Parents must personally deliver any necessary medication to the nurse.
CLINIC & MEDICATION Inhaler use - Asthmatic students must provide documentation of their parent’s and physician’s approval to carry an inhaler. Epinephrine use - a student who has experienced or is at risk for life-threatening allergic reactions may carry an epinephrine auto-injector while in school, if the school has been provided with parental and physician authorization.
DRESS CODE Before leaving your house to come to school, make sure your clothing is appropriate • No inappropriate words/pictures on clothing No low-cut or see-through shirts Even if wearing a jacket No spaghetti straps or tank tops that expose undergarments Even if wearing a jacket No midriff (stomach) or back should be exposed . Even if wearing a jacket • Hats are NOT to be worn on head or clipped to your body. • Sleepwear or house shoes shall not be worn. • No sneakers with built in blue tooth speakers or wheels.
Dress Code • All mask and/or Face covering should be worn at all times if not social distancing • Skirts/shorts MUST COVER the middle of the thigh to the bottom of your finger tips. • even when wearing tights underneath • including athletic shorts • Skirts, pants, and shorts cannot be tight. • If you wear tights/leggings, shirts MUST cover your bottom and front areas COMPLETELY!! • Thighs should not be exposed when wearing tears/rips in pants • If you have tears/rips in your pants, tights should be worn under the pants.

Baggy Pants LAW • Pants should be properly secured at the waist. • Belts are highly recommended. • Zip-ties will be substituted for belts when necessary. IMPORTANT NOTICE! Shoes or any other items are NOT to be sold or traded on campus. Students should not carry multiple pairs of shoes about campus. PE shoes must be placed in locker.
Boys – No Sleeveless shirts/jerseys at any time!
Hoodies and Hats are not allowed! *There will be “hat days” in which you will be able to wear hats. (Relay For Life Fundraiser)

Electronic Devices Policy Electronics must be OFF and put away. If we see it…. we take it! If it’s on…it’s gone! If you use it…you lose it! 9: 18 a. m. – Electronics are put away 4: 20/3: 20 p. m. – Electronics can be used.

Change of Class You have 4 minutes to get to class. That is MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME to use restroom and get to class. Stay to the right of the hallways. This makes traffic move quickly. Follow the signs for the flow of traffic safely Once you are in, you are in! Classrooms and Holding Areas. 8 th Grade stairs go UP; 7 th Grade stairs go DOWN. Exceptions: Before 1 st period, ALL stairs go UP. After 7 th period, ALL stairs go down.
Tardy Policy Students will be marked tardy if they are not in their designated seat or area when class time starts. These infractions are tracked cumulatively per quarter. Consequences for Tardies Phone Call to Parent Lunch Detention/ISS
Gum & Candy Gum is never allowed on campus. Candy should ONLY be on campus when included in a school fundraiser. All trash must be placed in trash cans. Repeat offenders will receive immediate and appropriate consequences. (Lunch Det. /Work Detail)
Cafeteria Procedures A Lunch must report IMMEDIATELY to the cafeteria. If you are late, you will have IMMEDIATE lunch detention. Students MUST sit with their class at their assigned tables. Students will wait until their assigned table is called to line up. Students must order all of their food when they are in the lunch line. No returning to the line. Cell phones can be used ONLY when an AP/Principal tells you to use them. No food or drink is permitted outside of the cafeteria. Students will check tables and floors for trash & throw items away prior to leaving. If you leave a mess, you may have Lunch Detention or Work Detail. Students will raise their hand before getting out of their seats (bathroom, water fountain, lunch line). Students will put money in their account in the morning. Students WILL NOT give out their lunch numbers. Do not throw or play with mask or face coverings

Examples of Bullying is unwanted & repeated written, verbal, or physical behavior that causes psychological distress Physical Sexual Verbal Emotional Cyber-bulling
If You Are A Victim Of Bullying Clearly tell the “bully(ies)” to stop Don’t ignore the incident. Immediately report the incident to a teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, and parent. You can also report bullying online (visit the school district’s website)
To Minimize The Risk Of Being Accused Of Bullying Keep your hands to yourself Remember that NO one has a right to harm another person in any way Think before you speak Immediately apologize if you accidentally say or do something that has made another person feel intimidated Report all incidents of bullying behavior you have witnessed to appropriate school personnel

Remember: Appropriate Behavior Keep your hands and feet to yourself. – HAFTY!!! Treat others the way you want to be treated. Always be respectful to adults and peers. Earn your lightning strikes!
RUN, HIDE, FIGHT
RUN and Escape if possible *Getting away from the shooter is the top priority. *Leave your belongings behind and get away. *Help others escape, if possible, but evacuate regardless of whether others agree to follow. *Warn and prevent others from entering the area. *Call 911 when you are safe, and describe the shooter, location, and weapons.
HIDE, if escape is not possible Get out of the shooter’s view and stay very quiet. *Silence all electronic devices and make sure they won’t vibrate. *Lock and block doors, close blinds, and turn off lights. * Stay in place until law enforcement gives you the all clear. *
FIGHT as an absolute last resort and only when your life is in imminent danger. *Commit to your actions and act as aggressively as possible against the shooter. * Use chairs, fire extinguishers, scissors, books, etc. After Keep hands visible and empty. Officers will shout commands. Follow their instructions. Evacuate the way they entered.
Courtyard, Patios and PE. Run in the opposite direction. Run until you cannot run anymore. Get to a house. Stay there until you see the police. Call your parents and let them know your location.
