Student Morning Responsibilities 1. Unpack book bag at seat 2. Turn in Communications folder to teacher. 3. Remove any money from folder and take to the vault. 4. Put snack in cubby. 5. Place book bag on your hook. 6. Begin morning work. 7. Morning announcements.

• Students accumulate points everyday through our Class Dojo app. • Students with 15 or more points accumulated on Friday will have 1 st choice of activities for Free Choice Fridays. • Letters will be sent home to allow you access to your child’s class dojo points. • Parents can download the Class Dojo app to any Smart. Phone.

Kindergarten 1 st Quarter Standards First Grade 1 st Quarter Standards • • • Count to 100 by ones and tens Write numbers 0 – 10 Count up to 10 objects and compare Count up to 10 objects in a line, circle, and an array Name and describe 2 and 3 -D shapes Model shapes Compose simple shapes Classify objects • • • Counts to 120 and able to write numerals to 120. Compose and decompose numbers 11 to 19 and understand place value. Identify a dime and understand that 10 pennies equal 1 dime. Compares the length of two objects indirectly by using a third non-standard object.

We are using a new adoption for Phonics. It is Benchmark Phonics. Kindergarten Introduce letters and sounds Introduce C-V-C words First Grade Blends and digraphs Introduce C-V-C-e and C-V-V-C words We practice manuscript handwriting based on Zaner-Bloser.

What is Writer’s Workshop? ü Opening mini-lesson ü Independent Writing Time ü Closing / Share Time ü 3 Genres of Writing (Narrative, Informative and Opinion. ü Differentiation naturally occurs during the writing process and requirements are based on the student’s level of experience.
