Attendance • • • It is important to have your child at school each day and for them to arrive on time. I believe that success in kindergarten is strongly related to attendance. Please try to plan vacations and appointments around school if possible. If possible, parents/guardians should email excuses for absences. CVES parents/guardians can email the school excuses for absences to the following email address: parent. cves@acsboe. org Please send me a text on the remind app or an copy the email letting to me know you sent an excuse to the office. The office must receive your excuse within 3 days, so please try to send an excuse the day your child is out or the day she/he returns. I’ve also included some paper excuses in the back of your child’s FISH binder in case you do not have access to email. Administration will make contact after 3 unexcused absences and excessive tardies. Remember that the tardy bell rings at 7: 45 and if a child comes in the classroom after that time he or she will be counted tardy. Buses usually arrive at school between 7: 00 -7: 30. Car Rider drop off begins at 7: 00. Children must be in the classroom before 7: 45. It is a good practice to arrive by 7: 30, so they can get unpacked and ready to learn.

Breakfast Your child may eat breakfast at school beginning at 7: 00 am. .

Breakfast Your child may eat breakfast at school beginning at 7: 00 am. . At this time…. . Due to Covid-19, breakfast will be brought to the hallway/classroom to eat. Breakfast will consist of a “grab and go” type food & milk. If your child rides a bus, she/he will go directly to the lunchroom and pick up breakfast. If your child is a car rider, please arrive in time to go get breakfast. I would suggest arriving no later than 7: 30 if they are eating breakfast at school. I want him/her to have ample time to eat.

Lunch • • • Our lunchtime is from 12: 10 -12: 35 each day.

Lunch • • • Our lunchtime is from 12: 10 -12: 35 each day. Visitors are not allowed at this time. Your child will be issued a 5 -digit lunch number. Some days we may eat in the lunchroom and some days we will eat in our classrooms, (But this may change) Lunch is $2. 75 per day and breakfast is $1. 25 per day for students. Lunch checks need to be labeled with your child’s 5 -digit lunch number so that it will be credited to your child’s account. Please do not include any other money with lunch checks. We cannot charge to lunch accounts, notes and phone calls are made to remind negative balances must be paid and will carry over until account is replenished. Lunch can also be paid online at myschoolbucks. com You will need to get your child’s ID Number from me before you can use this tool. It may be a different number than your child’s lunch number that they learn to enter at lunch. Right now, we will not be entering lunch numbers, but rather the CNP ladies will do that for the children due to not being able to touch the lunch keypad due to covid. Free and Reduced Lunch Forms will only be available online and must be completed at the beginning of each year. https: //paypams. com/Online. App. aspx

Daily Snack • Please send a healthy snack and a refillable water bottle with your child’s name from home each day. Please help explain to your child how to open certain snacks before coming to school. We eat our snack during our reading time of the day. We have a “working” snack. • A simple snack such as goldfish, crackers, fresh fruit, etc. • • Please no candy or cokes! Please help your child learn how to open and close his/her water bottle correctly before school begins. Please, put your child’s snack in a Ziplock bag or Brown paper bag—just something other than their lunch box. They may get confused which one is their lunch and which one is their snack.

Medicine • Medicine – All medication must be brought to the school office by an adult. The adult will be required to fill out a short medication form. Students are not allowed to keep medicine in their book bags. Transportation ***** IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO BE CONSISTENT ***** • I will need to know before the first day of school how your child will be going home each afternoon. • • • Your child will be given a transportation tag to wear on his or her book bag. Please make sure that anything you send to school with your child fits inside their backpack. If you plan to change your child’s transportation for any reason, I must have a parent note so that I can send it to the office to be approved. I cannot send a child home a different way without a note. This is for your child’s safety. Changes cannot be made at the last minute (to eliminate confusion and allow time to adjust child's dismissal) and phone calls and faxes are not accepted due to student safety. parent. cves@acsboe. org is an email address where you can send a change of transportation to the office. Please try to send these changes in before lunch. It would be a great practice to copy me on that email, just so I’m aware.
