NCAA Core-Course Requirements www. ncaaclearinghouse. net To establish initial-eligibility at an NCAA Division I or II college or university, a "core course" must meet all of the following criteria: • A course must be a recognized academic course and qualify for high school graduation credit in one or a combination of the following areas: English, mathematics, natural/physical science, social science, foreign language, and philosophy. • A course must be considered four-year college preparatory by the high school (Concept level classes do not apply). • A mathematics course must be at the level of Algebra or a higher level mathematics course. *** It is the student’s responsibility to monitor NCAA course eligibility ***
