Virtual Recruitment What is it? • Formal Recruitment through a virtual platform How will it work? • With participation from every one of YOU! • Virtual recruitment may seem vastly different than what we know formal recruitment to be, but it doesn’t have to be. As long as everyone is giving their all to sell the Alpha Phi experience, it won’t be as different as we think. • We recommend utilizing Zoom as your virtual platform in order to host parties, just like we would formal recruitment
Party Flow Begin by having everyone enter into the same Zoom party room - Recruitment team will greet everyone & introduce themselves - Show some sort of video that exemplifies your chapter & Alpha Phi - Up to 7 people (4 Alpha Phi’s and 3 PNM’s) Break into smaller Zoom rooms - Have one Alpha Phi who has recruited in the past lead the room – Team Captain - Converse with the PNM’s End by bringing everyone together - Thank them for coming and give them any additional info they may need
Roles Recruitment Team Captains Recruiters Operate as usual with organizing everything from party planning to training you all When we break out into rooms for parties, they will be in charge of guiding conversations and making sure we are on track Additional Alpha Phi’s in party rooms who will follow the captains lead in keeping the conversations going and adding their input Controlling beginning and ending of parties
Conversation Pointers When you’re in smaller groups it is important that you include every PNM in the conversation – refer to them by name It is important that you don’t force Alpha Phi into the topic of the conversation Hosting a date on a video camera may seem more intimidating than being in-person
Conversation Pointers Cont. Open up the conversation by taking the chance to get to know her – Don’t just start talking about Alpha Phi Make her feel comfortable getting to know YOU first If needed, offer a small ice breaker to ease in. • Ask her to give you a tour of her space • Ask her where she would be hanging out on campus if she was there • Play a quick virtual game of “Would You Rather? ” Once you sense that she feels comfortable, open up the conversation to talk about Alpha Phi
Conversation Pointers 4: 3 ratio Progression • 4 alpha phi’s and 3 PNM’s • One alpha phi is the team captain, that leave the other 3 to add to the conversation • Pay attention to who is engaged and who isn’t • If someone isn’t ask them a question directly and always refer to them by their name to get their attention • Once they feel comfortable, let them ask questions • If they don’t have any, ask them questions prompting them to want to know more

Body Language Cont. - Don’t be on your phone Even though you can only see each other’s faces, it is still important that you pay attention to the cues you’re giving - Be aware of background noise/distractions - Look happy and engaged - Make sure the lighting is well set They will mimic the vibe you’re giving off

Prepare Yourself First Impressions are everything • Look polished • Ask open-ended questions • Educate yourself on Alpha Phi • They will have plenty of time to do their research online, so make sure you’re up to date!
After the Event is Over… Fill out your electronic selection card Remember to add any info you possibly can! This is how the recruitment team will get to know her Check-in with in your team captain with how it went and what can be improved for next time Get excited for the next one!!
