United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Each year More than 7, 000 individuals and almost 300 local companies join us in the fight to build a stronger community. Thank you!

Funding the Most Critical Issues We Face

 • provides free and confidential access to non-emergency health and human services information

• provides free and confidential access to non-emergency health and human services information and referral, via phone, text, chat or on-line database. • connects people who want to get help with community services and connects people who want to give help with volunteer opportunities. • United Way’s 2 -1 -1 serves Marathon, Portage, Lincoln, Oneida, and Vilas Counties.

 • More than 180, 000 books have been distributed since 2004 through agencies

• More than 180, 000 books have been distributed since 2004 through agencies that serve children and families—with an emphasis on low-income families. • The Adopt A Classroom project in 2019 paired local businesses with kindergarten classrooms across Marathon County for a literacy building activity. More than 1000 kids participated.

• Supports a diversion pilot “Tiers of Support” to integrate communitybased services for students and families that address challenging behaviors and truancy with supportive rather than punitive approaches. • Hosts a “Student Hiring Fair” where local businesses meet with local students to accept applications, conduct interviews and establish better bridges to local youth employment. • Hosts a Professional Development Day annually in August to build skills in individuals who work with youth in our schools and agencies.
