211 Mission: To connect people with community resources skillfully & compassionately 3 -digit telephone number set aside by the FCC in 2000 as the number to dial for health and human services information and referral 2 -1 -1 pilot launched in Maryland in 2006. In 2010, legislation was passed enabling 2 -1 -1 to become a permanent system in Maryland. 2 -1 -1 is present in 50 states plus Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and Canada. 2 -1 -1 MD consists of 4 regional call centers: UWCM-Central Maryland; CCSi-Southern Maryland; MHAFC-Western Maryland, and LCC-Eastern Shore.
