Non-degree programme in English Udmurt State University offers non-degree programme for international students "Russian and Regional Studies". Language of instruction: English. Duration: 1 semester (autumn semester). The programme is aimed primarily at bilateral exchange students from partner universities. The programme "Russian and Regional Studies" is for those who: - are looking for something different from a standard degree program; - need practical skills or professional contacts more than an educational credential; - prefer a "real world" experience that allows them to travel or work outside of a university environment; -are interested in academic study in Russia but are unsure about their Russian fluency. Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL) • TORFL is a standardized test supervised by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. • The test has been worked out in Ud. SU within the State System of Testing since 2002. • All international applicants are invited to be tested to any of the 5 Levels and acquire the State TORFL Certificate.

Finno-Ugric Studies Ud. SU is a unique place to study the Folklore, Language and Literature of the Udmurt people Summer School of Udmurt Language and Culture Participants from many European countries (Hungary, Finland, Germany etc. ) as well as from the USA and Japan come to Udmurtia to learn Udmurt language and to get acquainted with the culture of the Udmurts: • attend lectures on folklore and literature of the Udmurt people • visit different museums, exhibition, publishing houses of Udmurt newspaper and magazine, towns of Udmurtia • take part in national festivals, which are held during the course period • take part in master-classes on different kinds of art weaving, embroidering, beekeeping, making ceramics, cooking dishes of national cuisine • learn national dances, Udmurt songs and playing national musical instruments • stay with the Udmurt students’ families in a village.
