Installation strategy of ELENA WP 2. 4. 5 • Done: • Ethernet sockets requested. • Timing cables requested. • To be done: • PLC systems (ion switch and interlocks) will be installed in a crate and installed in ELENA platform after testing in lab. • Cabling distribution between interlock PLC and power converters. • Installation of FEC in the control rack. • Connection of the commercial chassis systems to the Technical Network after their installation. • In charge: Jose M. de Paco (CCS), Christophe Machado (FPC), Christophe Coupat (OMS). 5 th November 2015

Overall status of ELENA WP 2. 4. 5 • Status: • Writing functional analysis.

Overall status of ELENA WP 2. 4. 5 • Status: • Writing functional analysis. • Software development will start with the reception of ISEG test power converters. • Ion switch control system depends on specification and definitive design. • Planning: • • • November 2015: functional specification approval, first SW developments. December 2015: functional specification approved. April-May 2016: lab testing. June-July 2016: commissioning. Spending Profile (budget code 99292): Before 2015 (CHF) - 2015 (CHF) 2016 (CHF) Total (CHF) 28 000 72 000 100 000 5 th November 2015

Open points of ELENA WP 2. 4. 5 Electrostatic Transfer Lines • Functional specification

Open points of ELENA WP 2. 4. 5 Electrostatic Transfer Lines • Functional specification to be approved. • Operation mode: DC. But some elements may need to switch to 0 V (interleaved cycles AD – source). • Risk: new development, delay. Ion switch • Need of specification of Ion-switch and switch box. • Interleaved cycles AD – source: switching times. • Risk: delay, dependence on chosen solution. Mitigation: use of FUG cassettes and manual switching during commissioning. Electron Cooler • Missing specification. • Risks: change of specifications, delay. 5 th November 2015
