50 th Anniversary Next year (2017) marks the 50 th anniversary of the Steel Window Association. We feel that it would be beneficial to focus some PR and marketing around this, as well as organising an event to celebrate 50 years of the SWA. Ideas for the event are dependent on budget, time of year and location. However, some ideas are outlined below and extra ideas/thoughts from SWA members are always welcome. • Lunchtime event on a Thursday or Friday • An exciting venue with steel windows (Tower of London/Natural History Museum etc. ) • A guest speaker with an architectural theme (Janet Street-Porter/Dan Cruickshank/Kevin Mc. Cloud) • Theme: 1967, 60’s music/food/events of 1967/evolution of architecture and steel windows • Video footage from the 60’s • Photography from members – old & new • Sit-down meal and drinks

Social media We upload all of our PR material onto the SWA social media

Social media We upload all of our PR material onto the SWA social media channels below. We also upload two more pieces of material per month – this could be a news story, photograph, retweet or good coverage. It is important that we all link to each other on social media and that members follow the SWA channels (we will do the same) so please do follow us on your company profiles.

Photography for the consumer press The consumer press are interested in steel windows and doors within beautiful homes and they would love to see more from SWA members. Please send us photographs of your work so that we can put them forward for features like this. We have had some really lovely case studies in from SWA members this year and the photography has been great. The next step to making this part of the programme possible is to establish if the homeowners that you work with are happy to be featured within the consumer press (if the opportunity were to arise). Perhaps this is something that could be asked when you are completing the work and the case study forms.

Commercial and Residential case studies As you know, we are always on the lookout for exciting case studies and projects that you are working on. Please fill in the SWA case study form which can be found on the SWA website and send to alison@tayloralden. co. uk. If you have the opportunity, it would be great to video some of your work being carried out which we could then put onto the website and You. Tube channel.
