Review of APE n. A stands for answer the question. n Before we answer the question, we must RESTATE the question that is asked… n For example, How did Jackie Robinson demonstrate the trait of perseverance?

Restate the question n To restate the question we use the same words in the question to form a sentence. n Example: How did Jackie Robinson demonstrate the trait of perseverance? n Jackie Robinson demonstrated the trait of perseverance by…

Answer n After restating- we must add our answer. n Jackie Robinson demonstrated the trait of perseverance by not quitting the baseball team despite the discrimination he faced.

PROVE n After we answer the question, we must PROVE our answer by finding a DIRECT SENTENCE from the story to show support. n You MUST put quotation marks around your proof because you are borrowing words from the author that are not your own.
