Assist a child in picking a topic Helping My Child suitable to their age Help your child pick a judging option Assist them in completing the online application, or filling out a hard copy Assist them in meeting the February 7 deadline for submitting their application
Project Display Board: a visual physical representation of the student’s topic and research Virtual Project: an electronic version of the student’s topic and Participation Options research Judged: Student’s display may be eligible to advance to the St. Louis Science Fair at Queeny Non-Judged: Not eligible to advance to the Queeny; this option is more about having fun and being involved
Online submission deadline is Friday, February 7, 2020 Hard copy (if preferred) submission deadline is Friday, February 7, 2020 All fields MUST be completed Application Changes are possible after the online application submission by saving the link provided at the end of your application process Students may work by themselves, with a partner, or in a group of up to three, all students being from the same school Students in K, 1, 2, 3 and 4 may work together to submit a “class” project A classroom teacher is responsible for filling out “class” project applications online
Student should “own” their display project Consider grade-level skills and student needs when determining support level you offer Grades K Thru 5 Use the calendar on our website to help student stay on track and meet deadlines Assist when needed with reading, writing, or understanding scientific methods Help student understand apply the different needs for their logbook and display Monitor their progress Offer assistance with time management

Volunteer to mentor other students at your child’s school The following opportunities require only a one- or two-hour Join Our Team time block: Volunteer to help set up our space at KHS Science Building on Friday, March 6 between 4: 00 p and 7: 00 p Volunteer to judge project displays on EITHER Thursday, March 5 OR Friday, March 6 between 4: 00 p and 7: 00 p Volunteer to oversee rooms or special displays on Saturday, March 7 between 1: 00 p and 3: 00 p Volunteer to help us dismantle our space Saturday, March 7 between 3: 00 p and 5: 00 p
