Reading · · Basal Readers Daily Five Fluency Folders Reading Homework – Monday thru Friday nights and one weekend night, 15 minutes, assignment sheet for students to complete based on a reading skill, parent signature once a week · TPRI (Texas Primary Reading Inventory) - Formal Reading Assessment given at the beginning, middle, and end of the year · District Goal – 90 words per minute on an on-grade level passage with mastery of comprehension

Language Arts · English: · DLR (Daily Language Review) Discussed and corrected daily, comes home on Thursday, quiz on Friday · Spelling: Language Arts · Pre-test – given on Monday · List – focus on phonetic pattern, may have regular or challenge list · Test – given on Friday · Writing: · Writing Workshop –process writing format of pre-writing, drafting, revision, and sharing English 30% Spelling 30% Writing 40%
