5 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES ELIGIBILITY • Project must relate to the mission of The

5 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES ELIGIBILITY • Project must relate to the mission of The Rotary Foundation (including the seven areas of focus). • It must include the active participation of Rotarians. • Club must have contributed to The Rotary Foundation in the 20202021 Rotary year. • Report for prior year’s grant must have been submitted by the due date of the grant application.

6 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES RESTRICTIONS Grants may not be used for: • Projects which

6 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES RESTRICTIONS Grants may not be used for: • Projects which promote a particular political or religious viewpoint • The establishment of an endowment or foundation • The purchase of land or buildings • Fundraising activities • Operating expenses of another organization • Projects for which expenses have already been incurred *See policy for a complete list of restrictions.

7 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES AWARD LIMITS • Maximum grant award is $5, 000. •

7 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES AWARD LIMITS • Maximum grant award is $5, 000. • No minimum grant amount. • Total amount of available grant fund is based upon the District Designated Fund (DDF) for the current year. The DDF is derived from contributions to the Annual Fund. The more our Rotarians give, the more we have available to award as District Grants.

8 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES MATCH REQUIREMENT • Club must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match

8 DISTRICT GRANT POLICIES MATCH REQUIREMENT • Club must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match to the grant amount received. • Other grants, project partners, and in-kind contributions cannot be used to meet the match requirement. • Club should have a fundraising plan in place prior to submitting their application.

9 APPLICATION PROCESS • The grant application includes: • Completed application form • Memorandum

9 APPLICATION PROCESS • The grant application includes: • Completed application form • Memorandum of Understanding • The application must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. • The application and MOU must both be signed by the President. • If the club received a grant for the 2020 -2021 year, the report for that year’s completed grant must be submitted with the grant application.

10 REVIEW PROCESS • The District Grant process is a competitive grant process. •

10 REVIEW PROCESS • The District Grant process is a competitive grant process. • There is no guarantee of funding, even if DDF is available. • The grant review committee will consider the following: • • • Level of club giving to TRF in the previous Rotary year Long-term history of giving to TRF Timeliness of grant report submission in prior years Number of club members involved in the project Collaboration with community partners • Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. PERIOD

11 KEY DEADLINE AND TIMELINE • District Grant applications are due: SATURDAY, JULY 31

11 KEY DEADLINE AND TIMELINE • District Grant applications are due: SATURDAY, JULY 31 • The Review Committee will strive to review applications and make recommendations to TRF within 30 days. • The Rotary Foundation will typically notify the District of their action on the recommended grants within the following 60 days. • Funding will follow thereafter.

12 REPORTING AND CLOSE-OUT • If your club is applying for a 2021 -2022

12 REPORTING AND CLOSE-OUT • If your club is applying for a 2021 -2022 District Grant, your 20202021 Final Grant Report must be submitted by July 31. • If your 2020 -2021 District Grant project will not be completed by July 31, you may submit an Interim Grant Report. • However, whether or not your club is applying for a 2021 -2022 District Grant, your 2020 -2021 Final Grant Report MUST be submitted by October 31. • If your club cannot meet this October 31 deadline, you need to contact me immediately when that fact becomes known.
