Eligibility • Students must attend an eligible school/college Students must meet ALL of the following criteria: • Have achieved at least 8 A* to C or 9 – 4 grades at GCSE (or equivalent, e. g. GNVQ, BTEC Certificate) including English Language and Maths • Of these at least 5 must be at grade A*, A, B, 9, 8, 7 or 6 • Be a Home/EU registered student

You can check the postcode on our website at www. realisingopportunities. ac. uk Come from a home where neither parent attended university in the UK or abroad Be in receipt of, or entitled to, discretionary payments/16 -19 bursary at school/college or Be in receipt of, or entitled to, free school meals. Or alternatively meet the following: • Be living in, or have lived in, local authority care or be a young carer.

Impact RO evaluation framework designed to: • Understand/ensure benefits to students through assessing changes in student attitudes, awareness and knowledge. • Evidence the impact of the programme through progression to Research Intensive Universities. Impact highlights • Over 5, 000 “most able, least likely” students have taken part in RO so far. • 64% of RO students have entered higher education, compared to 38% of young people nationally. • A higher proportion of RO students progress to research intensive universities than the national average proportion of state school students who progress to the most selective HEIs. • 77% of RO students tracked to their degree completion achieved a 1 st or 2: 1 in their degrees compared to 66% of all students nationally. • 94% of students tracked were in work or study after graduation compared to 90% nationally.
