Preposition is a word or group of words. e. g. in, on, at It is used before a noun or pronoun to show place, position, time. 前置詞とは、文の他の要素との関係を示す語句であ る。 名詞の前に置かれ、場所や方向、時間の意味を補う。

A bus is a vehicle which has a roof, but “basu ni notteiru” says “on a bus” in English. “On” also has the meaning of “dependence（依存）”. e. g. depend on, rely on

A passenger can get in and out of the taxi freely. （自由に乗り降り可） in

A passenger cannot get in and out of the bus freely. （自由に乗り降り不可） on
