Poster Session Overview: Event where a teacher or researcher shows visual display of strategies,

Poster Session Overview: Event where a teacher or researcher shows visual display of strategies, best practices, and or research based ideas to an audience on a poster board. The poster should quickly and efficiently grab the attention and focus of the audience giving you the opening to involve your audience in a discussion and interactive collaboration or hands-on activities. The poster should be able to tell a story, initiate discussion, command attention, and reflect research ideas or best practices with illustrations, text, graphics, and or images that emphasizes and provides clarity for a given topic.

Posters Criteria: O For PEC 2017: Goal of showcasing 30 Poster Board Sessions O Topics must be research based and or best practices approach O Must include interactive hands-on activities O 1 poster (big chart paper 32” X 27”) per presenter or Trifold project board O Contains title, text, images, & graphs. Font should be large enough to read O O O O O at a distance. Make illustrations simple and bold. Use colors to add emphasis and clarity. Text should be concise, short, and straightforward. Illustrations, images, and graphs should be ordered or sequenced. Poster presenters have the option of bringing co presenters. Presenter must prepare comprehensive and concise summary of their topic. This will be synthesized into a one page handout or brochure. Include citations APA style. Do not read the poster to audience. 1 page handout or brochure Drawings/illustrations can be scanned and inserted or pasted as pictures. Duration of poster session is 1 hr. 30 mins. A total of 10 sessions per day, with 5 poster sessions showcase in Session 3 and 5 posters showcased in Session 4. These are the first two sessions after lunch. Presenters will only present once. Then they are free to attend other sessions.

Students takes turn pulling out cards out of the bag and defining, giving synonym, or antonym, examples for the words on the card. If correct, student keeps the card.
