Why do we do a poster session? • Practice your information in a less formal setting • Gain confidence • Get to know your information better • Practice pronunciation (ask people!) • Speak with American students, staff and other IEP students you may not know • No last minute, night before the presentation planning • Having a poster session is a common practice both in universities and conferences.

What should I include on my poster • Title • Your name • Minimum

What should I include on my poster • Title • Your name • Minimum 3 pictures (you may have more) • 1 map • Bullet points of key information (places, dates, numbers etc) • Graphs or drawings

What materials do I need • Tri-fold (can be white or colored) • Color

What materials do I need • Tri-fold (can be white or colored) • Color or black and white pictures and map – make sure they are large enough to be seen easily from a few feet away • Title (printed or handwritten neatly) • Markers, pencils, and eraser (optional) • Glue – don’t use staples or stick pins
