Progression of Conceptual Curriculum: NRS 122 Concepts u Week 1: Communication; Stress & Coping u Week 2: Self & Family (Addiction/Violence) u Week 3: Self (Eating & Personality Disorders) u Week 4: Self (Mood & Affect) u Week 5: Self (Cognition)

NRS 122 Course Requirements u Course week begins on a Tuesday and ends on a Monday u Mid-term exam (given in lecture week 3) u Cumulative Final Exam (given the Monday of week 5) u HESI Psychiatric/Mental Health web based exam (given Friday of week 5) u 4 clinical sessions 8 am-5 pm (Princeton House weeks 1 & 2, Trenton Psychiatric Hospital weeks 3 & 4. No clinical week 5. u No college lab in this course. u Dosage Calculation Exam: given during first clinical day (expectation of achievement=90% or higher)

NRS 122 Grading u Mid-term Exam= 40% of grade u HESI Mental Health Exam= 10% of grade u Cumulative Final Exam= 50% of grade u Total=100%

HESI Mental Health Exam u This standardized web-based exam is given at the end of the each course session and must be taken to successfully complete the course. (dates in course outline) u Students will be required to complete the “Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing” practice test which is located on the evolve website at http: //evolve. elsevier. com under the “case studies with practice test” section prior to sitting for the HESI exam. u The percentage score for this exam will be calculated into your final grade for the course (10%).
