MILESTONE 1 Duke Albrecht Hohenzollern opened the Koenigsberg University. 1 а The University was named "Albertina" after its founder. PERIOD 17 August 1544 1656 2 Kaliningrad State Teacher Training Institute was opened in Kaliningrad. 1948 3 Due to the enlargement of its educational area the Institute was transformed into the Kaliningrad State University. 1966 The following renowned figures as J. G. Hamann, J. G. Herder, F. W. Bessel, C. G. Jacobi, F. Lindemann, A. Hurwitz, D. Hilbert, F. Helmholtz, I. Kant taught or delivered lectures at Albertina; K. Donelaitis studies theology; E. T. A. Hoffmann attended lectures.
