Love • Person does not try to control you • Appreciative of each other • Proud of the person they are dating Infatuation • Lots of expectations • Insecure – don’t know how the other person feels

LOVE Infatuation • Don’t have to ask – “Do you love • Always trying to me? ” change each other • Open honest communication

LOVE INFATUATION • Trust • No Trust • Wants the best for the other person • Wants the best for themselves

LOVE • Can wait for sex or physical involvement INFATUATION • Can not wait for physical involvement – want it now • Takes time to develop • Happens really quickly

LOVE • Based on solid friendship • Attracted to many things about the person INFATUATION • No time for friendship to grow • Attracted to a few things about the person – overlooks other things

Using the lyrics – you are to identify several things you are going to label the different components of love that you see…. Label these things…. . • Infatuation… • Conditional love or Unconditional love • Commitment – whenever the song talks about a long commitment or devotion to one another • Passion – if the song talks about attraction or physical closeness • Intimacy – if the song talks about being close emotionally, sharing thoughts ideas, soul mates

• Next week - in small groups - you will share your song choice and the lyrics to your song • Your group will select 1 -2 of the songs which most represent love and we will play those songs in class (over a couple of days) and put the lyrics on overheads.
