What is the Lothian Primary Care Information Portal? • One stop shop – single source of information for GPs and other PC professionals • Secure area, hosted on the online platform Tableau®, developed by Lothian Analytical Services • Content to be developed in conjunction with Primary Care Colleagues, tailored to be Practice specific
Why do we need a Primary Care Information Portal? • Lots of existing information and health intelligence products ‘out there’ – all accessed from different places • Platform to provide easily accessible, relevant, comparative and timely information. • An area to securely store local level data to support the development of Practice and Cluster plans
Potential Data Sources • Vision & EMIS practice data – e. g. Workload data • Practice Population Information – age & deprivation profile, leavers & joiners, boundary information • Referrals • Health promotion / ill health prevention – child health, screening, teenage pregnancy, STIs, breastfeeding, drugs misuse, ABIs • Community data, Out of Hours, Health & Social Care data • Links to existing data: - NSS/ISD (Discovery, Primary Care Indicators) - Lothian dashboards (PCP dashboard) - Routine reports (hospital admissions)
Next Steps • We need GP input and feedback - What are your thoughts. . . is it useful? - What would you like to see included? • Mechanisms for feedback - Email: Analysts. PCCO. PCP@nhslothian. scot. nhs. uk - Via Cluster Quality Leads - Primary Care Data Group Representative
