The Repository Site The LLWR is the UK’s national LLW disposal facility. The role of the site is to accept LLW from waste producers across the UK, which meets the acceptance criteria for the site and which requires disposal to such an engineered disposal facility. National Programme The National Programme is responsible for implementing the LLW Strategy on behalf of UK Government and the NDA. 6

Waste Management Services acts as integrator, through the Waste Services Contract, enabling waste generators to access a range of routes for alternate treatment and disposal of their LLW. Waste services contract Framework contracts with multiple suppliers 7
