BACKGROUND • One of the Modules that we did was on how to start your own business, to which encouraged us to attend a Start Up Weekend at the University of Kwa. Zulu-Natal (UKZN), which was a business innovation session whereby people with new business ideas or existing enterprises with a different approach, come together to present their business ideas. • Our team came first in top three achievers for the best business idea, which is called Kasi Car Wash. • Kasi (Meaning Township) Car Wash

KASI CAR WASH IN UMLAZI Our service is providing door-to-door car washing services WHY DOOR-TO-DOOR • Saves time for the car owner • Cost effective • It is clients orientated system WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE KASI CAR WASH • Bringing the service to the owner will create a relationship between us and the owner. • For the owner to spend time with their family while the car is being washed, other than waiting in long ques waiting for the car to be cleaned.

And this will bring us more money. • Currently our customers have rated our services as good, as we provide them with after service questionnaire • Good relationship with client leads good word of mouth a good marketing tool, people will have a positive outlook on our business , and will recommend it to others.

CHALLENGES • Start-up cost • Lack of trust in the community due to car theft in the area. • Some community members feel we will drop out of school because we are making money, we then had low self-esteem on continuing with our business. • Business is fully dependant on our availability and time

OUR MOTIVATION • NO BUSINESS IS EASY RUN ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU START ITS FOUNDATION, BUT BEING POSITIVE AND DOING WHAT YOU LOVE WILL MAKE YOU SUCCEED. • THEY SAY CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME, which is relevant to us because we started this in our own neighbourhood.
