The Problem ØWhen compared nationally, Iowa is finding fewer foodborne illnesses. ØDifficult for the public to figure out which agency to report potential foodborne illnesses to. • Peer reviewed journal article identified this as a challenge to reporting. ØIdentified as an area concern of Iowa food safety agencies during CIFOR toolkit evaluation process. ØLack of awareness about foodborne illness by the general public.
