This is how you are judged � Content (50 total) � 20 points: Speech

This is how you are judged � Content (50 total) � 20 points: Speech Development � 15 points: Speech Effectiveness � 15 points: Speech Value � Delivery (30 total) � 10 points: Physical � 10 points: Voice � 10 points: Manner � Language (20 total) � 10 points: Appropriateness � 10 points: Correctness � Do read the judges ballot before you start writing your speech.

LOCK the Content � Have 100% clarity on the following � Lead --- Mostly You � Obstacle / Objective � Characters & their contribution � Knock out Punch � Compelling opening (set the basic traits of lead here) � The purpose (at least a hint) of the speech must come out in the first 2 minutes. Build characters in the body. � Save the knock out for the fifth minute and conclude with in the 1. 5 minutes of the Knock out.

Some tips on the content • One who looks outside dreams. One how looks inside awakens. Send the lead on an inward journey and your audience will love it, they will have a great take home value. • Have a strong logical flow to the speech, the events must be placed in an order that makes the lead wiser and less wayward as the speech progresses. • Don’t have more than 3 stories in the speech. • Try to have the speech within 650 -700 words. • Humor enhances your speech but don’t have humor for the sake of it.

Delivery of the Speech � Read cc 2 -cc 6 of the TM manual before you complete your final draft of the speech. � While you would definitely have a planned body language and voice modulation , practice it in front of an audience and a mentor to get things right. � This section is very subjective to each person and I advise that you work this with your mentor. � Physical appearance , Voice and Manner carry 10 points each in this section, focus CC 5 and CC 6 and work with your mentor to figure out as to what is appropriate for your speech.

Language �Avoid Jargon. �Please have your speech reviewed by a person who is good at English Grammar. �If you are not sure of your grammar skills, please try remembering the sentences as is. Short sentences can save the day. Refer cc 4 in the manual.

Rehearse till your jaws ache and the body refuses to take any more body language. �Rehearse till your body makes the gesture naturally. �Rehearse till the vocal chord and body are in sync. �Rehearse till the next sentence comes naturally and you forget your surroundings till the end of the seventh minute

Hey I cleared the Club level Contest � Remember what got you here will not get you to the next level. � Give your speech 5/10 and then seek more mentoring. � Review each and every line of your speech and check if the real estate can be used more effectively. � Reach out to people who made it to the next levels before and spend time making the corrections. � Seek advise but don’t ignore your gut feeling. You somehow know what works for you.
