Funding • Funding available based on Club and individual contributions to the Rotary Foundation

Funding • Funding available based on Club and individual contributions to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund in 2017 -2018 – $230, 806 Donated in 2017 -2018 in District 5970 – 50% to the World Fund – 50% to DDF • 50% to Global Grants • 50% to District Community and International Grants • $6, 441 from four endowed funds earnings • Plus……. 50% of $37, 220—extra allowed by TRF Trustees • Funding Available for District Block Grants in 2020 -2021 $79, 532 TITLE | 6

Grant Application • Grant Application (on District Website) – Projects will not be funded over multiple years • Intended to be accomplished in one year • Strongly encouraged to spread your grant funding around the community as much as possible – Avoid Large projects of which your club is a small part – Projects must be completed and a final report approved by May 31, 2022 – Clubs may submit more than one application – Use application in the District Grant Handbook—you can type on it – Check only ONE box under “Activity Type” – http: //district 5970. org/sitepage/district-foundation/grants TITLE | 7

Cooperating Organizations • Cooperating Organizations – Involved in implementing the project – Offer technical expertise and project coordination • Cooperating Organizations MOU Required – Found on District Website – Your Club is the “Host Sponsor” on the form – Funds must stay with your Club DO NOT write checks to the Cooperating Organization PLEASE write checks directly to the vendors TITLE | 8

Final Reports • Final Grant Report form – Found on District Website – Detail all expenditures for the entire project—both the grant funding and your club’s match – Provide all documentation – Grant Reports are due 30 days after completion of the project • Written approval must be granted if the project needs to extend beyond the May 31, 2022 deadline. Use Interim Report form. • If all requirements are not met in a timely Fashion – No Future Grants will be Approved – Your Club may be required to Return Grant Funds TITLE | 10

HOW ARE GRANT APPLICATIONS EVALUATED? • District Grant applications will be evaluated on a 100 -point scale based on the following six criteria: Humanitarian focus of project Community Need Benefit to Rotary’s Public Image Club Contribution Ratio- amount of 15 points funding from club compared to total funding requested Member involvement Club support for The Rotary Foundation 15 points 25 points TITLE | 13

Things to Remember District Grants • Minimum grant project cost is $3, 000 • Club funds 50% (minimum of $1, 500) • District matches club funding (minimum of $1, 500) • Maximum match from District is $5, 000 (project can cost more than $10, 000 if there additional sources of funding beyond club) • Clubs may submit more than one application but please rank them TITLE | 16
