Outcomes and Experiences I can grow bacteria using nutrient agar in Petri dishes. I can produce a control plate to allow comparisons. I can observe the safety requirements when working with microbes.

Avoid sneezes! Never reopen! • You are provided with Petri dishes containing nutrient agar. • Set up the dishes as follows: A few drops of water Touch gently with your fingers Wash hand in detergent and touch gently Swab the surface of the benches • Completely seal with cellotape • Leave in the oven over the weekend • Each bacterium will grow into a colony ADD NOTHING (CONTROL)
