Scheduling 2012 -2013 Monday: Homeroom teacher will give you scheduling information. You may begin working on your schedule today. Mon. - Thurs. : Complete schedule cards and IGP. Counselors will be available to answers questions during both lunches. Wed-Thurs. : Counselors will begin collecting completed schedule cards and IGPs. Both must be signed by parents. You will receive a ticket to wear sweatpants on Friday if you turn in your scheduling information on time. The class with the highest percentage turned in will receive a pizza party after the Mardi Gras holidays. Please turn in your card even if you still have questions.

Core 4 � � � All students will be required to follow the Louisiana Core 4 curriculum for at least the first two years of high school. 21 Required Credits � 4 English � 4 Math � 4 Science � 4 Social Studies � 2 Foreign Language or Speech � 1 Art � 1 ½ Physical Education or JROTC* � ½ Health 3 Electives Total = 24 credits to graduate Students currently in 9 th or 10 th may substitute JROTC I and JROTC II for PE and Health requirements. Students will be required to pass state exit exams. This requirement is in addition to the required number of credits.

LA Basic Core Only students who have completed 2 full years of high school

LA Basic Core Only students who have completed 2 full years of high school may choose to switch to the basic core diploma. � 21 required units � 4 English � 4 Math � 3 Science � 3 Social Studies � 1 ½ Physical Education or JROTC � ½ Health � � � 8 Electives Total = 24 units to graduate Can not choose this option until student has attended high school for a minimum of 2 years Must have meeting and written permission from parent to choose this option This option will not meet current 4 year college automatic admissions policies or TOPS Students in 9 th or 10 th grade will have to complete a career cluster and take Journey to Careers or Education for Careers

Along the way, students fulfill the requirements for graduation, and may look into completing additional coursework for TOPS (a scholarship that helps pay for college) and for Academic or Career/Technical Endorsements.
