• We will be completing 2 parts for today’s assignment • Review the Powerpoint on Art Genres: Found on Canvas. Be inspired by the artwork. (Some of you viewed this document during Distance Learning, Phase 1). MAY 6, 2020 AGENDA: FOCUSING ON ART HISTORY • Part 1: Become an art critic • Take a virtual field trip to a renowned museum. View several pieces of artwork as you “walk” around the gallery. • Pick one piece of artwork and analyze it using the attached worksheet. This can be done in a Word document and uploaded into Canvas. • The piece of artwork is completely up to you. Attached is a list of famous artists to use as inspiration.

● Become an art critic. In a Word document: ○ Paste a picture of the piece of artwork. ○ List the artist, title, and year it was made. ○ Then in a paragraph: describe it, relate to it, analyze it, interpret it, and evaluate it. ○ Use some of the questions to the left as a starting point. ○ This can be done in a few sentences. This is Part 1. It should be submitted by Monday 511 prior to the start of class. Analyze one piece of artwork ●
Part 2: #Isolation Art Challenge Watch the video on the next slide about the Isolation Art Challenge that has been flooding social media. ● View several examples on the following slides. ● Recreate a piece of artwork. (It does not have to be the original artwork that you picked for Step 1). ● The artwork can be a portrait (meaning, you would need humans or yourself to pose), a still life, a landscape etc. ● You can use any materials- people, laundry, household objects, etc. ● Be creative and have fun! ● When posting your picture, please post both the original photo and your recreation. You could also do a side-by-side in a Word document or in a Pic Jointer app. Step 2 is also due on Monday, May 11 th prior to the start of class. ●
