INTERPRET What story is the picture telling? It is the teacher’s birthday and her class has surprised her by writing “Happy Birthday” and “Surprise” on the board. They have also brought her presents and put them on her desk. The teacher is happy about her surprise.
INTERPRET A. The fish are brothers and came from the pet store. They were a birthday present for a little girl that lives in a purple house. B. The boys are playing hide and go seek with their babysitter. The babysitter is angry at the boys for hiding from her.
INTERPRET A. Three boys went to the movies and saw a scary movie. One of the boys is worried he’ll get in trouble for watching such a scary movie. B. Three boys went fishing and one of the boys didn’t catch many fish. He’s sad.

JUDGMENT Do you think the art is good or bad? Why? Your opinion!! I like this painting. I think the artist did a very good job at painting things realistically. I like how the teacher’s face shows her happiness and surprise that her kids would give her such a nice birthday treat.
JUDGMENT A. I like the picture because the fish look like they would taste yummy. B. I don’t like the picture because it doesn’t show the fish realistically. C. I like the picture because it shows happy kids. I like how they smile.
JUDGMENT A B C I don’t like this painting because it is messy. It looks like the artist was not careful when they were coloring and does not look like their best work.
