Alexander Chen nasceu em Canton, China, em 1952. Seu interesse pela arte começou a se desenvolver, durante o jardim de infância, quando ele começou a desenhar imagens de sua própria vida e das vidas de seus colegas de classe. Nos anos que se seguiram, heróis lendários ganharam vida em desenhos que ele compilou em forma de livro de histórias. Chen estudou Arte na “Central Academy of Fine Arts” e na “Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts” na China. Na década de 80 viajou por toda a China e suas pinturas foram selecionadas para a “National Art Exhibitions”. No final de 1980, mudou-se com a família para a Califórnia, EUA, criando uma série de obras sobre a vida urbana de Nova York New Orleans, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, entre outras. Viajou pela Europa, Oriente Médio e sudeste da Ásia visitando e capturando sobre tela a vida cotidiana. Seus temas diversificados incluem parques nacionais, paisagens urbanas e o campo. Chen foi o artista oficial dos “US Olympic Team” e criou os originais para os Jogos Olímpicos de Verão de Pequim 2008 e para os Jogos Olímpicos de Inverno Vancouver 2010. As pinturas de Alexander Chen são extremamente detalhadas e complexas, oferecendo variados níveis de visualização. É um artista aclamado internacionalmente, e sua obra tem ilustrado livros, calendários e jogos quebra-cabeça.

Biography: Alexander Chen was born in Canton, China in 1952. His interest in art began to develop while he was in kindergarten, where he began to draw pictures of his own life and the lives of his classmates. In the years that followed, legendary heroes came to life in drawings he compiled in a book of stories. Chen studied art at the "Central Academy of Fine Arts" and "Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts" in China. In the 80 s he traveled throughout China and his paintings were selected for the "National Art Exhibitions. “ In late 1980, he moved with his family to California, creating a series of works about urban life in New York, New Orleans, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, among others. Chen was the official artist of the "U. S. Olympic Team" and created the originals for the “Summer Olympics” in Beijing and the 2008 “Winter Olympics Vancouver 2010”.
