IB Program Overview 2018 ● The IB Diploma Program is composed of 6 subject

IB Program Overview 2018 ● The IB Diploma Program is composed of 6 subject areas (Language A, Language B, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics, The Arts) ● Subject Score Range: 1 -7 (4 is a qualifying score) ● Up to 3 bonus points for Extended Essay/Theory of Knowledge course performance ● Learner must earn 24 points and avoid any failing conditions to earn the IB Diploma (Average of 4) ● Learners complete assessments for 3 (or 4) subjects at higher level (HL) and the remainder standard level (SL) ● All HL and most SL subjects are taught over 2 years

AP Course Revisions and Next Steps • Beginning in 2019 -2020, AP Studio Art 2 D Design, AP Studio Art 3 D Design, and AP Studio Art: Drawing will become AP 2 D Art and Design, AP 3 D Art and Design, and AP Drawing • The portfolios submitted as part of those courses will now have 2 portions: sustained investigation and selected works • Fewer required works will be submitted

AP Course Revisions and Next Steps • Beginning in 2019 -2020, AP World History

AP Course Revisions and Next Steps • Beginning in 2019 -2020, AP World History will cover information beginning in 1200 CE and the title of the course will be changed to AP World History: Modern. • The College Board is looking to create a new course, AP World History: Ancient, pending feedback from universities that they will award credit for such a course.

CISD AP Celebrations As you know, we have been notified by the College Board that for the fourth year in a row we are an AP Honor District! This honor is bestowed on districts who have increasing AP course enrollment/exam participation and increasing AP scores on those exams.
