History of the Company � Founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1944, Wright & Filippis is the nation’s largest family-owned provider of home medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, respiratory services, and medical supplies. The company’s motto – “First to serve, first to care” – speaks not only to the healthcare services they provide, but also to their ongoing commitment to improve the lives of seniors and persons with disabilities. Leadership at Wright & Filippis � Mike Murray director of marketing and communication has held his current leadership/management role position at Wright & Filippis for 13 years. � John Kotter, in his book “Leading Change”, stresses that the lack of assessing readiness for change may lead to negative change. Failure to assess organizational change readiness may result in leaders spending significant time and energy dealing with resistance to change. Readiness for change assessment typically enables the organization to understand its current state, address gaps to improve organization change readiness and mitigate risks of gaps which cannot be completely overcome [2]” John Kotter (as cited in 2012).
