Wildchild Adventure! Phasel’s Wood Activity Centre, Hertfordshire

Why are we going on our residential? Every adult lucky enough to go on a school residential remembers it as a highlight of their time at school. Away from home, enjoying a big adventure, they form such an important part of growing up and are the perfect opportunity for a valuable learning experience. One of the main goals of residential activity school trips is to provide pupils with new and challenging experiences in a safe and professional environment, celebrating the end of their exciting Whytemead journey together.

It promotes the importance of allowing children to connect with the outdoor world, and the powerful and inspirational lessons to be learned by getting children outside.

Why ‘Wildchild’ at Phasel’s Wood? ü Having already been to Lodge Hill for their first adventure, we wanted to explore somewhere ‘not in Sussex’. Wildchild at Phasel’s Wood is about a 2 hour drive, just off the M 25. Easy to get to, but far enough to feel that we are on a real adventure. ü After extensive research and price comparison, Wildchild have offered us the best value for money trip. ü It offers us the opportunity to spend a week outside, sleeping in tents and getting back to nature. ü It has excellent reviews.

Our tents will be here!

Where will the children sleep? In a tent with 5 other friends. Children will choose the friends they want to share with. Tents will be boys only or girls only.

What will we eat and where? We might try some outdoor cooking! But, we get all our catered meals at the central catering hall. All dietary requirements are catered for. We have the option to ‘eat in’ or outside in the large marquee.

We are going to have fun! All the activities are led by trained leaders and are fully riskassessed. Wildchild are working on an exciting, packed programme of fun for us including zip wire, tunnelling, climbing, abseiling, campfires, shelter building, scavenger hunts and much more!
