What does a set designer do? • Create a concept that aligns with the director’s vision. • Must take into account audience demographic (ex. Age) • Design, plan, organize the building of sets. • This can involve hiring the contractors/builders or how you will build it yourself. The set designer must also work with the lighting, sound, and costume designers. All of these jobs work in response to one another.
