NEWS RELEASE EVALUATION’S Traditional: PRHS set to accept many future students this upcoming high school graduation [Headline Example] San Antonio, TX. (April 27, 2016)—PRHS, or better known as The Puerto Rican Heritage Society Scholarship Awareness Program, is set this upcoming summer to have rumored about 200 applicants apply for their updated scholarship program. If this rumor is in fact true this will double the amount of applicants applying post graduation exponentially. The target audience for such a dramatic shift in applicants is due to targeting specific demographic areas located all throughout San Antonio, TX. “I have never seen such a dramatic change in applicants this year, it’s definitely a phenomenal and exciting experience to witness” said local PRHS representative Cristina Rodriguez. All the funding for these broad ranges of scholarships issued by PRHS is due to many successful fundraising events that have taken place throughout San Antonio this past year. Post-grad students are expected to attend next year’s many conferences and public speaking events at local high schools, to help spread the word and market this company. PRHS is dedicated towards helping promote its three core values, while always making sure to inspire and encourage Puerto Rican students to live up to their upmost potential. FACT SHEET The Puerto Rican Heritage Society: History: The PRHS has been established since

FACT SHEET The Puerto Rican Heritage Society: History: The PRHS has been established since 1984, with the motto that this organization is set up with the values of promoting “culture, education, community. ” It’s prime objective is continuing to be a strong influential scholarship organization while offering many benefits and services to not only the children involved with the scholarship, but their families as well. Vision: PRHS vision is to promote personal and career development through its scholarship program that awards scholarships to Puerto Rican high school gradates upon graduation. Purpose: PRHS purpose is supporting the community at large by participating in civic endeavors within the city of San Antonio, and supplying scholarships to Puerto Rican descents, by spreading awareness of their company. Goals: PRHS goals include expansion, and helping to raise awareness for their organization. They also hope to partner with more sponsorships and corporal personal to help raise awareness for their cause. Call to Action: PRHS call to action occurred 31 years ago, in 1984, when a group of young women congregated together in the hopes to spread awareness of their heritage by raising money to award various scholarships.

ANGLES AND CONTENT FOR STORYTELLING OPPORTUNITIES Fundraising Events To Help Bring Awareness To the

ANGLES AND CONTENT FOR STORYTELLING OPPORTUNITIES Fundraising Events To Help Bring Awareness To the Company In this first angle to helping expand grow this company, the objective is to first, grow the awareness surrounding this specific company. Secondly, there has to be a secure source of revenue constantly flowing through the business, or else the business will ultimately fail. Since, PRHS is already throwing one fundraising event every one-to-two year’s to help raise awareness, perhaps expanding that to three smaller fundraisers a year, to at least one every year will help keep a constant flow of interested and perceptive students. These fundraising events do not need to be huge overwhelming spectacles, instead more intimate and exclusive as to really get the change to inspire and motivate future clientele/students. Food is always a great idea as well to help attract new and interested people. Perhaps, showcasing booths at a local high school--in the geographic area that is most beneficial to the Puerto Rican Heritage—could help gather that much needed attention as well. Everyone, especially the younger generation loves free food, so this is a great way to help spread information while leaving a memorable impression on that individual as well via food. Partnerships With Local San Antonio Groups & Fairs This example in my opinion is probably going to be your most beneficial in terms of spreading awareness about PRHS as a whole. Consider future partnerships with huge San Antonio Fairs & Events such as Fiesta or River City Rock Fest. Any type of concert venue or event venue that attracts 10000+ people is always a great way to get your information out there one way or another. Even if it’s just a pamphlet or brochure detailing the event, given at every entrance to the people entering the venue, it’s still a great way to showcase facts about PRHS to anyone who will look over the brochure. Considering thousands of people show up to events such as these, it’s almost a given that more than half will read the brochure and see the many sponsors that helped to create such a massive event. H-E-B is a great example of this. By showcasing their brand everywhere with venues reaching crowds in the thousands, everyone knows that H-E-B was a sponsor, which in return gets the company’s name out there to any who may not be familiar with it.

STORY TELLING OPPORTUNITIES CONTINUED. . . Public Speaking Events At Local San Antonio High

STORY TELLING OPPORTUNITIES CONTINUED. . . Public Speaking Events At Local San Antonio High Schools Lastly, for this example the best way in my opinion to help bring awareness to the story aspect of your company is to schedule public speaking seminars at local high schools during graduation to present the information to all students’ attending college post graduation. If you target the correct demographic, with the highest percentage of Puerto Rican descents, this idea could work out to be one of your most successful. As most students post high school are looking towards entering many colleges throughout Texas, this is your best way to showcase what PRHS is about and stands for—which if the students are Puerto Rican decent, this could really impact them on an emotional level. This in turn will help get the information about PRHS out there by not only word-of-mouth, but also technologically as many students could Tweet or post Facebook status about how such an impactful and informative session with PRHS went at their high school that day. Also having previous students who received this scholarship speak at these events could also help garner that emotional and sympathetic support as well. Students love hearing from someone that has experience with what they are learning about first hand, and what better way to showcase positive information about PRHS than through someone who experienced it first hand.

ANGLES AND CONTENT FOR FB/WEBSITE IDEAS *As I mentioned in my last document about ways to help improve PRHS’s digital and online brand, I will reiterate and expand upon it more here. 1) Topic To Keep In Mind While Reviewing This: Website Navigation/Social Media Importance. Websites are huge, and extremely competitive. If you do not have a fun and interactive ‘easily manageable’ website, people will not view it. Just from first appearances alone, the current PRHS website could use a different, more interactive-based layout. Consider a layout with less white space, and more interactive features. For example, the scrolling images on the home page is a great touch, but showcasing pictures of students winning scholarships would help ‘applying students’ want that scholarship that much more. Also, the image is not interactive, perhaps linking the image with an interactive feature, to help scroll through pictures would be more beneficial. Also consider restructuring the webpage, there is way to much white space, and not enough balance. Everything (text included) is weighed in the middle of the page, leaving the left and right sides bare. Maybe a background image, or interactive features featuring unique aspects of the company would be interesting. For example, incorporating the frog in the white space would be an interesting way to tie this organization into other Puerto Rican Heritage staples. • Add more information into the contact page, perhaps a Google Maps image of where the building is located, and a contact number for students to call if they have further questions. • Expand more on the culture page, really try and showcase how important this is to the organization and how you take pride in the scholarships your company is offering. Also try and tie in pieces of the Puerto Rican culture into this. Try and make those

WEBSITE/FACEBOOK IDEAS CONTINUED… 2) Social Media: Consider adding a Twitter, and Instagram page to help spread awareness about this company. Covering all platforms of media is the best way to help raise awareness about what you are trying to promote. Facebook is a great platform to use, as many older and (current) students have this. While it may not be a popular as Twitter, or Instagram with the younger generation, it is still ranked the #1 social media interface platform for a reason- it currently has over 2 Billion users! That’s huge. With this huge amount of people viewing one platform alone, this means what you are offering has to be clear, concise and attractive, to attract the audience you are looking for. Currently, the object of the game is likes. The more likes your page has, the more of an opportunity PRHS has at reaching out and influencing younger people to apply for their scholarship opportunities. You have to make sure the information you are presenting is 100% accurate and easy to follow. Consider linking up a digital version of the online scholarship process for viewing/competing in the bio page of your current Facebook page. Also keep in mind, that repetition is key. 17/18 -year-olds need a constant and steady source of current information. What I mean by this is that, they need to be able to see this information many times over. So instead of just having one link for the scholarship attachment in your bio, perhaps adding posts ever now and then reiterating and reminding students that, that information can be found applied for here is a good idea as well. 3) Twitter: Twitter is a huge interactive news sharing website available to every, and all ages. This is a great way to help present and market PRHS to the best of its capabilities. As many students are moving to this form of website designs (with only 140 characters for status as opposed to an unlimited amount) information and context distribution is key. Consider what exactly it is you are trying to sell/promote and find the easiest way to showcase that to the world in 140 characters. Frequent uses of hash-tags are also a great example of students stumbling upon your webpage just by the hash-tag you used. This is my opinion will be one of the most important website platforms you will use to help distribute and market PRHS as a whole.

INTERVIEW ANGLES/IDEAS First Question To Consider: Who is our target audience? In order to maximize the overall awareness of this company, you need to first recognize the target audience, and in this case, it’s the younger generation. How do you become a Member? This is probably one, if not the most important question that you will be asked, when talking to the younger generation about joining. Is it exclusive, or non-exclusive? If it is nonexclusive- or invite only, perhaps it’s best to consider opening up and allowing all Puerto Rican students to join. Also, consider a premium and original membership. For example, premium memberships could cost anywhere from $3. 00 -6. 00 dollars a month and users are guaranteed exclusive access into being the first to know of events, and are allowed top priority access to important details about the company. Get the person excited about the company, and give them a reason to want to spend $3. 00 -6. 00 a month. Regular memberships would just include your basic Intel on the company; and is free to all students/users. How To Apply For Scholarships? The best thing to keep in mind when encouraging students to apply for scholarships is that students are lazy. More often then not, if the scholarship process is lengthy and asking questions that are difficult to answer, most students will not apply for it if they do not think it is extremely vital to their scholastics. Consider creating a moderate level scholarship process that is first easily accessible. Instead of keeping scholarship applications through the local high schools, perhaps expanding that towards your online brand (or website) will cause a higher influx of applicants. Students like the ability to apply through scholarships when they want, and how they want; if there was a link on your website containing the entire scholarship and submission details, this will help exponentially.

INTERVIEW IDEAS CONTINUED… Are There Any Volunteer or Internship Opportunities? The best way to help alleviate unneeded strain off your shoulders is to hire additional help to help manage the workload. College students, especially in the communications field, are looking for internships, and what a better way to raise awareness for your brand then to hire students to help create something fun and exciting to really showcase your business. Consider hiring summer interns or volunteers- (paid or unpaid), students need internships regardless- to help alleviate the pressure of structuring this business all by yourself.
