“Early Years” Rodman Edward Serling was born on December 25 1924 in Syracuse New York. When Serling was two years old him and his family moved to a quiet town where his dad, (Sam) opened a grocery store. After Graduating from “High School” Serling joined the US army in WW 2. Luckily he survived. After the war Serling decided to do Drama School and that inspired him to do the next thing we are going to talk about.

“The Beginning Of A Huge Career” After Getting Married to a girl named Carolyn Kramer, Serling started to write TV shows for CBS. His first Drama was called “Patterns” became so popular many people enjoyed watching the show that it became the first show to be shown a second time. After the success of “Patterns” Serling wrote more shows such as “A Town Turned To Dust” and “Requiem For A Dream”. After the success of those two shows he decided to make another show.

The Idea Serling decided to make a new show based on some other shows Serling enjoyed watching in his free time. The Last 5 Years In 1970 Serling was really popular. But he decided to start teaching. He also had one last show in stock. The show was called “Night Gallery” and it ran from 1970 -1973. Then in 1975 something horrible happened

The Death Of Rod Serling had to be rushed to the hospital of a heart attack. Than on that day June 28 th 1975 the doctors announced that the heart attack killed Rod Serling died when he was only fifty years old. Serling died with a loving family at his side, his wife and his two children, Anne and Jodi. Serling was buried at the Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken New York.
