P 30 Pro – pushes mobile photography forward and highlights Huawei’s capabilities • The first smartphone to introduce RYYB sensor. The new sensor uses two yellow pixels instead of two green sensors in existing RGGB sensors. • The yellow spectrum is wider and enables more data to be collected from the same scene. • The P 30 Pro should have improved low-light performance. Huawei claims expanded sensitivity to ISO 409, 600, compared to ISO 102, 400 in P 20 Pro. Huawei lead the triple camera trend in 2018 • Huawei first launched a triple camera with the P 20 - series in early 2018. • Huawei lead the triple camera trend in 2018, by launching several triple camera devices, like Honor Magic 2 and Nova 4, in addition to the Mate 20 series towards the end of 2018. • Now, triple cameras make up 3% of the market in Q 4 2018, with Huawei shipping 94% of the units with this configuration. Other OEMs are adding triple cameras to their respective portfolios this year. • Huawei introduced a four camera array in P 30 pro, following the market trend of increasing number of cameras in the smartphones. Huawei expands its presence in the high-end segment with Mate and P-series phones • Huawei expands its shipments in the high-end segment and now has 7% market share in this segment in the 4 th quarter 2018. • Strong sales of its latest flagship, Mate 20 -series as well as P 20 -series phones, enhanced its presence in the high-end segment. • Huawei shipped 2. 5 m units of Mate 20 Pro in the quarter and continued shipping 1. 8 m units of P 20 Pro. • With the new higher priced P 30 series Huawei intends to further extend its share of high-end phones this year.
