CONSTITUTION: Ø Constituted by the Government of Meghalaya and registered under Societies Registration Acts 1983 MISSION: ØTo ensure effective utilization of Science & Technology for all round development of the State. FUNCTION: ØTo identify, formulate, execute/co-ordinate and follow-up programmes/schemes for the State on various aspects of Science & Technology.

PROGRAMMES: Popularisation of Science Programme with an aim of to inculcate a scientific temper

PROGRAMMES: Popularisation of Science Programme with an aim of to inculcate a scientific temper amongst the general public particularly school children, and ultimately to generate scientific minded citizens in the State Scientific Research and Development of Appropriate Technologies Programme with an aim to o put an effort to initiate the application of appropriate technologies for socio- economic development particularly for improving the living condition. Remote Sensing Programme with an aim to impart GIS training to the students and general mass. Sponsored projects Programme with an aim to support students project in the field of innovations, technology intervention and environment related. Specific projects Programme with an aim to carry out action research in the field to test new and improved technology innovation. Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Programme with an aim to impart training to developed entrepreneurship skill among unemployed youth through S & T intervention. S&T Library & Documentation Programme with an aim to document the council activities. Convergence programme with other institutes such as MBDA, SIRD etc. Centrally funded programme through DST, DBT etc
