Background knowledge n n White Glue is also call Polyvinyl acetate. (PVA /聚醋酸乙烯酯). Different brands of glue use different materials. These materials have different ability to stick things. Some glue can stick thing tightly. (This is the formula of PVA) 3

Aim of experiment n To find out which brand of glue sticks the heaviest thing. 4

Material & apparatus Glue A 《ピガ卄ス》 Glue B 《Elmer’s》 5

6 pieces of 10 cm x 5 cm x 2 cm Woods 1 plastic basket 6

2 x 750 ml water bottles 1 x 5 ml plastic spoon 7

1 timer • 80 cm rope X 1 • 15 cm ruler X 1 8

Procedure • A half spoon of glue A was measured. 9

n n The spoon of glue A was added on a wood. Another wood was put on it. 10

A timer was used to measure the time for 30 mins. n A 80 cm long rope was cut into two 40 cm long rope. n 2 ropes was tied up with the plastic basket. n 11

The plastic basket was hanged up with two stuck together woods. n The bottle was put in the plastic basket. n 12

100 ml water was added into the bottle each time and waited for 10 seconds. n The record of would the wood fall down was noted down. n 13

n Later on, other brand of glue were tested using the above steps. 14

Discussion n In the experiment, these two brands of glue had stuck for half an hour, and we use a straight for holding a basket to measure different weights. We used the water bottle to fill in different amount of water to test how much weight they can hold. 16

n We think we can improve my experiment by using more scientific method by measure things with a pound, so we can know what the exact value of the water. We can also use a better unit, such as g, kg, etc. But not the amount of water. 17

Our comment n n First when we knew we will have a project to do. We are not so excited. It's because we always did many project and they are easy to finish. But when we were discussing the title of our project, we thought it was really a hard work. There were many thing we want to discuss so we need to choice a best one. At last we chose this title because we thank that it was useful. After finished this project, we know which band of white glue can stick two thing for longest time. We are all enjoy when we doing this project. 18

Conclusion n Glue A is the best glue for sticking woods. 19
