IDENTIFY STRATEGIES • A strategy is a broad approach to facilitating change. Choose strategies according to the results they are intended to create, or the typical activities they might include. • For instance, the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion identifies five types of strategies: 1) build healthy public policy; 2) create supportive environments; 3) strengthen community action; 4) develop personal skills; and 5) reorient health services. A program can include one or more strategies. Each strategy contains one or more activities.
