Agenda • NCUF Background • What Does NCUF Do?

Mission Making financial freedom achievable through credit unions.

History o Chartered as the CUNA Foundation in 1980, served as a traditional trade association foundation for the first decade. o In 1991, the Foundation reorganized to become a formal “charitable” foundation focused on the needs of consumers and credit unions’ unique ability to meet those needs.

History o Today, the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) remains “affiliated” with CUNA, but operates under a separate 501(c)(3) tax exemption. o NCUF is the national philanthropic arm of the U. S. credit union movement.

NCUF meets the extensive standards of America’s most experienced charity evaluator. This seal is designed to provide a clear, concise and easily recognizable symbol that our charity adheres to the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance National Standards of Charity Accountability.
