Classroom Expectations Kindergarten is a wonderful time in a child’s life. Not only are they learning the foundations of education, but they are also learning the foundations for life. Students must: * Come ready to learn * Be respectful to their peers, teachers, and school environment * Use only kind words and always play fair * Listen and follow all directions * Have fun *Behavior chart* *Warm and Fuzzie Jar*

Meet the Teacher * I grew up in Hampton Twp. and went to Mc. Keown School and KRHS * I attended Kindergarten in this exact same classroom * Graduated from Centenary University in 2011 * Bachelor's Degree Sociology * Certified in Elementary Education K-5 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities K-12 * I was hired at Mc. Keown in September of 2011 * Taught second grade for a number of years but fell in love with teaching Kindergarten * I have two boys; Cooper (4) and Parker (2)

Schedule 1. Morning Meeting/ Calendar 2. Language Arts • Reading/ Writing - Schoolwide • Orton Gillingham – writing/phonics program 3. Lunch 4. Math • Big Ideas Math 5. Social Studies/Science/Self-Help Skills 6. Specials (Remote)

Homework • 10 minutes of nightly reading to your child * Reading Log * Reading Certificate • If your child is struggling with a concept, I will reach out and further discuss some additional work to complete at home • As the parent, you do have the option to request homework

Folder Each night your student will bring home a clear folder… • One pocket will be labeled “KEEP HOME”. Papers found in this pocket are for you and your family to keep and enjoy as you please. • The other pocket is labeled “RETURN”. In this pocket you will find forms that are required to be signed and returned.

Lunch and Snack * Lunch will be in the classroom or outside weather permitting * Option of buying * Provide a Ziploc bag to store mask * Hand sanitizer * Afternoon snack * Allergies?

Housekeeping * This year it is extremely important to label your child’s belongings * * * * * Lunchbox Water bottle Backpack Lunch money or notes for the office Etc. Extra pair of clothes for the nurse Extra mask Tissues Sweater or sweatshirt

Notes * Please send in any notes regarding pick-up or drop off information or changes to your child’s normal schedule * If your child will be missing school, please call the “sick line” and leave a message for our school nurse
