Grammar Remember that verbs are actions, things that you can do. Verb tense tells when an action occurs. We can write verbs in present tense, past tense, and future tense. We add endings, called inflectional endings, to a root word to change its tense. Sometimes we have to change the spelling of the word completely. We call this irregular past tense verbs. Let’s look at some examples of irregular past tense verbs together. Teaching Point: I can write verbs in past tense.
