MICA 2. 0 Key Objectives • Create customized, targeted solutions to meet the workforce needs of today and tomorrow. • Develop and launch new employer-led collaborative, • Bring together employers, educators, workforce, and partners to formulate solutions to fill identified talent gaps.

MICA 2. 0 Employer-led Collaborative Roles Employer role: • Leadership role in collaboratives • Communicate talent demands and skill needs Host organization role: • Bringing together partners • Promote braiding funds with WIOA and other sources • Project manage the collaboration Post-secondary role: • Development of training reflecting the talent skills needs of employers • Promote braiding funds with WIOA and other sources • Utilize Perkins fund to support collaboratives goals and initiatives Talent Development Liaison role: • Member of consortium • Grant administrator • Technical support

MICA 2. 0 MICA Awards: $25, 000 - $200, 000 Successful employer-led collaborative applicants will utilize MICA 2. 0 funding to support activities that engage employers in addressing critical workforce needs. Activities include, but are not limited to: • Identify and analyze talent needs. • Hold meetings and/or events. • Align efforts to local workforce and education strategies that connect to disadvantaged adults and youth. • Develop/expand school-to-career opportunities (work-based learning, internships, etc. ). • Support convener and/or project manager to organize activities, planning, and focus of employer-led collaborative.

MICA 2. 0 Timelines Cycle 2: • July 15, 2019/5 PM: Deadline for submission for both existing employer-led collaboratives and new employer collaborative. • August 14, 2019: Awardees notified. • September 12, 2019/2: 00 -3: 30 PM: Grant Orientation Meeting. • September 12, 2019 – April 30, 2021: Grant Period. Cycle 3: If funds are available. See RFP for timelines.
