How does he feel when he watches it eating? • Who is Maria and what was her relationship to Arlo? How did the two of them meet and where is she now? • What three things helped him through his condition? What has changed and how is that relevant to the rest of the story?

Arlo’s war P 44 -45 • Describe Arlo’s appearance. Is there anything particularly noticeable about his build or the way he dresses? • What is Arlo’s job and at which company? Is he good at his job? How much time does Arlo spend working? Why does he spend that much time working? • Where does Arlo work? What is unusual about the place where Arlo works (considering it is located in the city)? Who is he talking to and what does he notice when “he left the company a few months ago” is said? What seems unreasonable about the idea Arlo left the company of his own volition?

Arlo’s war P 56 -58 • How does Bernie feel about breaking the promise he and Diego made to Arlo? Why didn’t he talk to him after giving him the letter about the future of The Havens? What do you think of him as a character? • Why does Arlo attack Teckno-Toys factory? How does he find out how successful his attacks are? • How does Arlo reconcile with the fact that he injures three people when he attacks the factory? Does he feel any regret? What does Arlo tell himself he’s fighting for?

Why do you think he saved the Mustang especially? • Does it seem unusual to you that despite the fact Arlo hates noise, he did notice the Sheriff’s men approaching?
